The brief was a warm, mid-century feel with real colour: cherry-toned wood, deep navy, mustard and olive green, instead of the usual grey and white. One designer handled the project from space planning to handover, and every built-in cabinet was made in our own factory in Puchong.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eLiving and dining\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eA full-height cherry laminate panel wall runs the whole length of the living and dining area. Behind the panels is the storage; in front of them is nothing, so the room stays clean. A long floating TV console sits under the wall-mounted TV, and a pleated fabric pendant hangs from the high ceiling over the round dining table. The olive green boucle sofa faces full-height sheer curtains that soften the daylight from the balcony glazing.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe cat cabinet\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eBeside the entrance is a navy cabinet built to house the litter box. The cats go in through a round porthole opening, ventilation slots below keep the air moving, and the top doubles as a drop zone for keys and supplies. Litter stays out of sight and out of the living room.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eEntrance and pantry\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe front door is painted navy. Next to it, the cherry storage wall has an open display nook for small objects. The dry pantry continues in the same cherry laminate with a dark grey backsplash panel, under-cabinet lighting and a tall column that houses the fridge and appliances.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eWet kitchen\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhite overhead cabinets, a travertine-look backsplash and cherry base cabinets under a white quartz worktop, with hob, hood and sink along one wall and the washing machine at the end by the window.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003ePorthole doors and mirror cabinet\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe bathroom and bedroom doors are navy sliding panels with three round porthole windows and a red-orange edge, a detail that carries the ship-cabin idea through the whole unit. In the bathroom, a navy mirror cabinet with a mustard interior matches the doors.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eMaster bedroom\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eA cherry wardrobe stands behind the bed as a room divider, with a dresser on its back.
