The commission covered the design of every room in 3D with a mood board, custom carpentry throughout, new plaster ceilings and lighting, wiring and doors. The wet works were not ours. Within that, the pieces built include a foyer with an altar niche, a dry kitchen and a wet kitchen as two separate rooms, and a study under the staircase.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe decision that holds it together.\u003c\/strong\u003e Restraint. One warm neutral palette on every floor, and a black trim line carried across panels, doors and cabinets, so the eye reads the whole house as one piece rather than three. Here it became a study: a full-width desk with lit display shelving above it, fitted to the underside of the stair. Before the work started it was a bare cavity; the before and after on our \u003ca href=\"\/\"\u003ehome page\u003c\/a\u003e shows the same spot.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eTwo kitchens, used differently\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe dry kitchen carries a marble backsplash and a wine display, and is the one on show. The wet kitchen is separate, with full-height cabinets, and is where the cooking happens. A recessed cove ceiling with a linear LED strip lights the room without downlights in the seating area. The TV sits on a beige feature wall with a black display niche beside it, a floating console below, and a full-height black cabinet on the right for storage. Sheer and blackout curtains run the full width of the sliding door to the garden.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eDry kitchen\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe dry kitchen is the centrepiece of the ground floor. A fluted glass overhead cabinet hangs from the ceiling with lit glass shelves inside, so glassware and bottles show through without looking cluttered. The island front is clad in fluted walnut with a strip light along the base, and the worktop is black quartz. A black framed sliding glass door separates the dry kitchen from the wet kitchen and keeps cooking smells out of the living area.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eWet kitchen\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eWalnut laminate overhead cabinets, matte black base cabinets and a black quartz worktop, with a hob and hood under the window and a tall column for the fridge and built-in oven. Behind the panels is the storage; in front of them is nothing, so the room stays clean. A long floating TV console sits under the wall-mounted TV, and a pleated fabric pendant hangs from the high ceiling over the round dining table. The olive green boucle sofa faces full-height sheer curtains that soften the daylight from the balcony glazing.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe cat cabinet\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eBeside the entrance is a navy cabinet built to house the litter box. The cats go in through a round porthole opening, ventilation slots below keep the air moving, and the top doubles as a drop zone for keys and supplies.
